Soooooo, anyway-Here is the last day of our baseball unit!!! This unit was a BLAST!!! The kids had sooooo much fun! We did soooo many fun activities on Friday!!! I don't even know how we had time for it all!!!!
We read about to of the most famous baseball players in history!!! Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson!!! Then, we did a Venn diagram comparing the two. (This activity is also in my Baseball Unit)
Of course we had to graph whether we were Cards or Cubs fans!! ;) We did a pie graph. I like to have everyone bring their piece up and spread them out around the graph. Then, once I have them in a circle, I call one table up at a time to glue it on. (They just place it right back where it came from-seems to go a little smoother that way:)
After singing and talking about "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" all week-We just HAD to try Cracker Jacks!!!!
I did NOT tell the kids there was a prize inside of their box!! The prizes just aren't like they used to be-so, I didn't want to build up their excitement and then disappoint:) Ha!!! So, I let them "discover" the prizes for themselves! When they found out there was a prize inside-they were SOOOOOO excited!!
Here is the Cracker Jack survey that we did. It can also be found in my baseball unit! ;)
Cracker Jacks Can sometimes be tough to find!!!!! NEVER FEAR!!! I found this Cracker Jack locator!!!! This is on Frito Lays' page!
You will click on the dropdown box and select Cracker Jack. Then click continue. Type in your zipcode and it will give you a list of all of the places near you that carry them!!!!! Yippeeeeee!! If you're in the St. Louis area-go to Schnuk's!!!! They have 3/$1!
Just click on the picture below to use the Cracker Jack finder! ;)
This project is also in my Baseball unit! It's a Make your favorite Player TLC-type craft.
We made Yadier Molina this year:) Gotta <3 Yadi!!!
And, last but, not least....we had a baseball lunch on Friday!!! Here is the note to parents~in case you'd like to grab it:)
Mr. Hempen-who is an individual aide in my classroom this year and has been AMAZING this year-grilled the hotdogs the night before and brought them to school in a roaster for us!
We also had nachos!!!!! (and LARGE Snyder's sourdough pretzels-not pictured)
And for desert...Baby Ruths (PERFECT after reading about him that morning ;) AND I thought about getting peanuts....but thought that would be too messy with the shells....and then came the genius idea of having Nutter Butter cookies!!!!!! No mess and SUPER cute:)
Chowin' down!!!!!
Go Cards!!!!!!!!
***Remember you can grab these awesome Fredbird hat patterns from my friend Erin at Firsties Rockin The Mullett!! She's new to blogging! So, show her some <3!!
It's really too bad you guys don't have any fun! ;) Ha! Super cute.
