Baseball Unit~Day 1

To kick off our baseball unit, we read My Baseball Book by Gail Gibbons.
After we read the book and kids learned a little more about the game, we did a circle map to talk about what a baseball player needs. I was really surprised that many kids didn't know!!!! So, this turned out to be a great learning experience!!! Sooooo many kids thought a baseball player needed a goal :)

The pictures that we didn't need were thrown into the container next to the chart. I called one kiddo up at a time. They either hung it on the chart if we needed it or threw it in the bucket if we didn't.
You can find this activity in my Baseball Unit.
Here's the finished Chart:

We also made these adorable CD Cardinals!!!! Aren't they cute??? These are NOT my original idea!!! I got the patterns from a Coworker!;) Thanks, Sarah!!!!!

  1. Katie,
Ok, so your Cards took the series with my Giants. But, we are holding our own against the Rockies! I'm so glad you will be posting how you roll out your baseball unit! This will really help me with planning how to use your unit and centers packs in the best way!
    Thanks!
