Lakeshore Fossil Discoveries Dino Labs Giveaway

Look what Lakeshore sent me to try out!!!! One of their super cool Fossil Discoveries Dino Labs! I knew my boys would LOVE this!! So, I decided to let them try it out ;) Brody is 5 1/2 and Grady is 3 1/2 and this was the perfect activity for my little paleontologists ;)
The boys could not wait to get their hands on this!! When we opened up the package-this is what we found....
10 different dinosaur skeletons
10 nameplates
10 individually packaged Model Magics
One paint block
One paint brush

The boys picked their favorite dinosaurs to get started! Luckily for me, there was a chart on the back of the box that showed the name of each dinosaur-so, we could easily match up the correct nameplate with the skeleton ;)

Next, they grabbed their model magic and started rolling...

So much fun!!

We flattened our our clay and made our fossil impressions...

Perfect!! So cool!

Time to paint! This paint is AWESOME!! <3 paint blocks! NOT messy and so convenient! Just get a small cup of water and paint your fossil. When you are finished with that paint-just let it dry out and store it away for next time!!

Pressing in the nameplate...

Even after you make your fossils-you still have 10 awesome and totally realistic dinosaur toys left to play with!!!!

And here is the finished project!! It turned out perfect!! And this was a super simple, super fun and virtually mess-free project!! Doesn't get much better than that-does it Moms??? ;)

Lakeshore was so generous that they are giving me two things to share with you!!! The first thing is a 20% off coupon code! This code is good through December 31, 2013.  Click on the image below to get your 20% off deal!

The second item that they gave me was a second Fossil Discoveries Dino Lab set to giveaway to one lucky reader!!
All you have to do to enter is be sure to follow my blog and leave a comment stating how you would use this lab if you win. Super easy!!!

  25. I teach Pre-K in a very poor school. Something so sensory like this where they can actually see and feel what a fossil is and looks like would be amazing! I would LOVE to put this in my science center!

  26. I teach Kindergarten in an extremely poor district. Any resources that I have, I bought out of my wallet. When I introduce the letter D I always study dinosaurs and fossils with the students. We usually create fossils with popsicle sticks, but if I could have this I am sure this would expand their interest and make my science center even better.

  36. This would be a wonderful addition to my dino unit. I've been trying really hard to strengthen this unit. I even bought some real fossils this summer but I've been worried about how fragile they are. This would make for a great experience.

Side note: Look up coprolite. If you can find it locally it is really cheap. I think the kiddos will love it. ;)
