OMGoodness!!!!! Where has the Summer gone?!?! Only about 2 weeks left until it's back to school for me!!!! Whoa!!!
I'm sure you have all been into your classrooms decorating and getting things ready for the new year! AND as you know, that can be SUPER expensive!!!! So, by the time my room is all cute, decorated and organized...who has $$ for buying much of anything else?!? Not I!!!
Well, with the help of School Outfitters, I get to cross a few of those extra items that I so desperately want to buy-but always get pushed back, off of my list!!!! Whooohooo!!!! They have VERY generously given me a $100 gift card to spend on my classroom and have also given me one to give away to one of my lucky Readers!!!!
Soooo, as I was looking through their online catalog-I found LOTS of goodies!!!! Here are a few things on my wishlist:
I want a Kindney table so, soooooo bad-but, do I really want to spend ALL of the money on it or buy a bunch of awesome little things??? Hmmmmm...decisions, decisions ;)
Here are some other options:
Love, love, love this "No yell bell"!!! What a great way to end center time!!!!
I MUST have this Time Tracker!!!!! Love that it has colors and sound effects to warn children how much time they have left!!!!! I would be using it all day long! ;)
I'm going to have a hearing impaired kiddo in my class this year...so, I thought these sign language stamps were super cool!!! Just another cool way of reinforcing the letters of the alphabet.
I can think of a million ways to use these jumbo tweezers at center time!!! And what a great, fun way to work those little muscles! ;)
Definitely need a nice, new shiny one of these for my centers work!!!! Mine was a freebie from Highlights MANY years ago and it's totally falling apart!! ;)
I also think these little talk point recorders are super cool!!!! So many uses!!! I would love to be able to use them to teach letter sounds and to put in my guided reading tool box ;)
Yep, so obviously, I went waaaaaay over my budget!!!! How will I ever choose??? What goodies would you choose from School Outfitters if you won the money????
I would put it toward a seating rug!! I've ALWAYS wanted one but WAY to expensive for me!!

The list is endless. I would really love to create a reading area that inspired the children to READ!
ReplyDeleteI would put it towards the purchase of a new classroom rug. I've always wanted the one with the individual rows and spaces for the students. They are very expensive, but a $100 gift card would help take the sting out of my pocketbook. :-)
ReplyDeleteJust in case you don't win ;)... go to your local carpet store and get some carpet squares Tell them you're a teacher and they might even donate them to you!(otherwise they are usually around $1 apiece.) Make sure they'are the squares (not rectangles) Then, buy lots of duct tape. Tape the squares together and you have a rug!!! I had one that lasted for about 7 years!!! And all I had to pay for was duct tape ;)
DeleteWhy would I love to win.....because my students are the best and deserve everything I can offer them. They are hearing impaired, low income, and from migrant families. They are hard workers always striving and fighting for every victory. I give them what I can, but my budget is never enough to furnish all the supplies we use. Thank you for this opportunity.

I would definitely put it towards a table! This will be my first year teaching so I'm nervous to ask for things but the table that is in the room I'm going to be in is HUGE; I LT subbed in the room last year and it was so hard to face all of the kids at one time (like a giant horseshoe).

It would be great for small groups if I could ever STOP putting papers and projects on top of it. I, also, have the Time Tracker but, even though I've had it for about four years, I still haven't figured out how to use it. I think this is the year for that mission.
